"Juliet"- A Bridal Styled Shoot

During the summer I had this idea to host a styled shoot and get my creative juices flowing with other incredible wedding vendors in Upstate New York. The gears in my mind were turning and I knew that I wanted to put something together that was a mixture of romance, mood, and art. I reached out to some of the best people I know in the wedding industry and showed them my mood board, not knowing that they would take my idea and make it A BILLION times more incredible- A huge reason why collaborating with fellow creatives is the freaking COOLEST.

After lots of planning and, I traveled to New York late November, ready to watch my dreamy shoot become a reality. It could not have been more perfect.

Sarah owner of Ivy Oaks Floral Design Co. kicked off the mood, working on the most incredible baby’s breathe floral installment.. I knew she was going to create art, but I was completely blown away by the actual masterpiece she put together with such a simple and understated flower. The bridal bouquet and boutonnière were everything. The deep purple colors and the pop of kale (yes actual kale) was the perfect unique addition to the winter wedding aesthetic that I envisioned.

Kelsey from A Love Story Bridal brought the most incredible dress. This dress named “Juliet” designed by Sarah Alouache quite literally blew all wedding dresses out of the water. It gave Love Story by Taylor Swift a run for her money. It was romantic, sexy, artistic and everything you could ever want in a bridal gown! I have never seen a dress with such delicate details be so elaborate, elegant, and yet simple all at once. I’m pretty sure it made every married vendor involved want to get married all over again.. or literally just anyone get married. It inspired the whole day.

Glory Addie Beauty did the hair and makeup on our beautiful bridal model. Glory was really able to make the model look elegant and stunning while not taking away from the model’s natural beauty. Truly so incredibly talented!

My incredible models, Anthony and Videlia, were game for any idea I wanted to throw their way. They braved the cold the last half of the photoshoot like true New York champs! Anthony and Videlia are so amazing to work with and photographing them is always a blast!

Lastly, it wouldn’t be a wedding bridal shoot without some flat lay invites and wedding details to really tie in the day. Victoria Kent Calligraphy delivered the most perfect winter wedding invite. I told Victoria that I wanted her to be creative with it and she absolutely blew me away with what she designed. It matched the vibe of the entire shoot as well as the floral design perfectly.

The night before the shoot, I decided to last minute grab a small cake at Price Chopper and some winter greens and put together a little wedding cake for the final details of the day. I gathered some cute vintage candles and deer antlers from my mother’s house and tried my hand at cake decorating. I was so pleasantly surprised at what a few dollars at Price Chopper and borrowed pieces from my mom could create!

Oh, and here’s a link to the cutest small town airbnb that I used to host the shoot. Historic Red Mill Airbnb. So cozy and perfect for a Upstate New York getaway! The owners are fantastic and great at communication and I highly recommend this place to all.

Everything came together beautifully and more than I could have ever anticipated. Yes I came up with the general concepts and idea, but the execution of it all falls to the wonderful and talented vendors that helped make this dream a reality! They literally took my idea and made it pure magic, which I could not have done without any of them. To all my future bride’s out there, these are the professionals that you need to work with. They are not only passionate about what they do, but they care so much about making dreamy visions a reality. I could not be more grateful for each woman involved with this shoot, and hopefully you can see their pure talent and creativity through these photographs.
